IDN-Armstrong's, Inc., as is true with many other locksmith supply distributors, evolved out of a retail locksmith service.
In the mid-1930's, Bill Armstrong moved his small locksmith shop from Chicago to Orlando, FL. The business rapidly became one of the foremost locksmith shops in Central Florida. As the business grew over the years, manufacturers and friends urged Bill to enter the wholesale business.
Mr. Armstrong established Armstrong's Lock & Supply Company as a sole proprietorship and began traveling as a salesperson in Central and North Florida. In March 1964, Bill's son-in-law, Virl Mullins, bought into the wholesale company and became a fulltime employee.
In July 1965, Mr. Mullins moved the wholesale division to Atlanta. IDN-Armstrong's has since expanded its service to eleven states in the Southeastern United States. Our mission was to reach the southeastern United States with same day service. To accomplish this, we opened additional locations in Miami (May 1985), Tampa (October 1989), Norfolk (July 1993), Jacksonville (June 1994), Orlando (September 1994), Raleigh (May 2002), and Nashville (May 2007).
After being in the midtown Atlanta area for almost 28 years the company moved in 2000 to a more modern 35,000 square foot facility at 3589 Broad Street in Chamblee, GA.
The objective of IDN-Armstrong's is to deliver a full line of all security equipment. In today's rapidly expanding security market our goal is to get product to our customers where and when they want it at a fair and competitive price.
